1. Adele Emily Sandé, MBE, known professionally as Emeli Sandé

2. Emeli Sandé was born on 10th March 1987, and is currently 27 years old.

3. She was born in Sunderland but moved to Aberdeenshire, Scotland when she was four.

4. Her mother Diane is English and her father Joel is from Zambia.

5. She first rose to fame when she featured on Chipmunk’s 2009 top ten single “Diamond Rings”.

6. Her debut album “Our Version of Events” sold over 2 million copies in the UK, and went to number one.

7. Four singles from her album – “Heaven”, “Next To Me”, “Read All About It, Pt. III” and “Clown” – were top ten hits.

8. She got to number one as a guest vocalist on Professor Green’s “Read All About It” and on
Labrinth’s “Beneath Your Beautiful”.

9. She does a lot of work with Naughty Boy, and appears on six tracks on his deluxe version of album “Hotel Cabana”.

10. She was lucky enough to perform at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

11. She’s written songs for Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Alesha Dixon and Tinchy Stryder, amongst other

Dear Moderator, My name is Lily Warrington Candidate No. 1732 , welcome to my A Level Media Studies blog.
