9 Camera Angles which I think are useful and effective.


Aerial shot - An exterior shot filmed from the air.

Arc shot - Where the subject is circled by the camera.

Close up - A shot that keeps only the full face in the frame.

Medium shot - This shot is the most common in films it shows less then a long shot but more then a close up

Long shot -  A shot that depicts an entire character or an object from head to toe.

Dolly zoom - A shot that sees the camera track forward towards the subject.

Pan - The camera moves constantly right to left or left to right.

The Sequence shot - A long shot that covers a scene in one continuous sweep without editing.

Top shot - A shot looking directly down on a scene rather then an angle.

In the mid-60s, US soul singer James Brown developed a new style of music called funk. In soul music the melody and lyrics are central, but in funk the rhythmic groove is central. A funk groove can continue for a long time without chord changes, and funk songs in the 60s often lasted for ten minutes or more. By the early 70s, nightclubs called discos were employing DJs to play dance tracks because it was cheaper than hiring a band. At first they played funk and up-tempo soul tracks, but in the mid-70s they started playing tracks with a new rhythm that was easier to dance to. Another new genre of dance music called techno developed in Detroit in the early 80s when club DJs began making electronic dance tracks. They used drum machines to create electronic rhythms and synthesizers with keyboards to add chords and melodies. Another style that developed in the 90s is drum and bass (or "DnB"). Evaluate the relevance of Todorov's theory of narratology to long form TV drama

Todorov’s theory of narratology is extremely useful in analysing the narrative of long form television drama. However, Todorov’s theory was drawn from fairy tales and is not designed to explain serial narratives like long form dramas with complex narratives, several different narrative strands and the segmented storylines of long form dramas.   Todorov’s theory is useful in stranger thing. His theory is very simple and widely used though out the generations. Its possible to identify his key elements of his narrative theory in long form TV drama. Todorov’s theory is very useful in teasing out messaging and values underlying a narrative, in pointing to the significance of the transformation between the final equilibrium displayed and the new equilibrium.
